Alan Potter FCIWM CEnv IEMA (Qualified Auditor) BSc(Hons)

Founder

Alan is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Wastes Management and qualified environment auditor with over 30 years experience in the field of waste and environmental management.

During his extensive career working with regulatory bodies including the Environment Agency, industry including the electricity supply industry and waste sector trade body Environmental Services Association and consultancy he has acquired expertise in environmental permitting, regulatory negotiation on compliance and enforcement matters plus the preparation of many successful applications for planning permission for waste management facilities.

Alan is experienced at appearing at public examinations and acting as expert witness at planning and permitting appeal inquiries. He has led compliance audits of national estates and in depth audits of waste management facilities. He also sits on the Government advisory body on waste data strategy.

Ella Mills BSc(Hons)

Graduate Consultant

Ella joined Beyond Waste on an internship scheme through the Brighton University having gained a first-class degree (BSc) in Geography.

She applies her keen mind and technical skills to her work on data analysis projects for Beyond Waste's strategic client base.

Ella is passionate about waste, having set up a litter picking initiative while at University and volunteering for a recycling charity in her spare time.

She’s been taking the team through their paces with her lunchtime yoga stretches and is also a keen skateboarder outside of work!

Josefine Minns BA(Hons)

Graduate Consultant

Fine (pronounced Fina) joined Beyond Waste on its flourishing internship scheme having gained a first-class degree in Geography from the University of Leicester. She works on environmental permit applications and planning applications for Beyond Waste's compliance led client base.

She has a strong interest in Environmental Policy, Climate Change and Environmental Justice so working on environmental permit applications and interfacing with regulatory bodies such as the Environment Agency is giving her first hand experience of environmental law in action.

She also works as an outward bound instructor which keeps her rooted in the great outdoors and loves walking her dog.

Shane Tasker TCM & CoTC Holder

Associate

Shane provides Technically Competent Management cover to Beyond Waste clients seeking permits. He holds a Certificate of Technical Competence for Hazardous Waste Transfer and Treatment. He visits sites to ensure our permit holder clients meet Agency TCM attendance requirements and provides permit compliance advice.

Shane is an IEMA qualified auditor (AEA), and member of the Chartered Institution of Waste Management (CIWM) and Institute for Environmental Management & Assessment (IEMA).

Charles Peeler BA(Hons) DipLA(Glos)

Associate

Charles is a Landscape Architect with 30 plus years experience of project managing.

He has honed his skills in delivery of major infrastructure projects including the Northern Line Extension (Kennington to Battersea), Nottingham Express Transit (Phase 2) tramway and The Doha Orbital Highway in Qatar.

In his spare time he keeps an experimental allotment where he practices Permaculture (a design system for creating sustainable human environments).

Charles provides project management support to Beyond Waste projects as well as expertise on landscape design.

Tom Hatch MSc BSc(Hons)

Beyond Waste alumni

Tom joined Beyond Waste's internship programme and went on to become a Junior Consultant.

Tom is now pursuing a career as a fully-fledged environmental consultant in the wider environmental field.

Beyond Waste is proud to have played a part in his development as an environmental consultant and appreciates the lasting contribution Tom made to our work.
